  • Kristine Wenthold

    Studio Coordinator

Kristine is a true Punk Rocker, and the heartbeat of SOR Edmond that keeps things flowing smoothly! She is an avid lover of live music and has seen many amazing acts live including Nirvana, Marilyn Manson, Stone Temple Pilots, and Panic! At the Disco. She was in the front row at the very first Lollapalooza in the Summer of '91. She left her stuffy bank job and put her organizational talents to work at School of Rock, and she's stoked to go to work every day. >If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why? • Jonathan Garrett

    Instructor

Jonathan Garrett is a multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer, pursuing a degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma. Garrett has a well rounded career as a performing artist and studio musician, engineering and performing on numerous albums, including his own music, under the moniker Johnny Manchild. Jonathan also served in the 395th Army Reserve Band, performing as a keyboardist and percussionist in numerous venues throughout the country. Garrett has amassed a wealth of experience and knowledge in numerous ensembles, ranging from jazz combos to wind symphonies, and feels it is a necessity to teach music to others, sharing from his successes and failures equally. Jonathan’s experience in transcription, arranging, recording, and performing, gives him a well versed background in music, allowing him to build a strong musical foundation with his students, whatever their desired skill-set may be. “My favorite thing about School of Rock is the Performance Program. I believe it’s absolutely essential to develop your musical skill in a group setting, learning to perform with other musicians and understanding how to cater to the needs of other musicians during a performance”.

  • Dylan Walling

    Instructor - Keys, Guitar, Vocals

I started taking up music around the age 5, when my grandmother, a life long pianist, took it upon herself to pass on her knowledge of the instrument. I began to take the piano more seriously around the age of 12 and switched piano teachers as I had grown beyond what my grandmother could teach me. At the age of 15 I was accepted into the Idyllwild Arts Academy. There, I found a deep love for music even outside the piano and began to learn the guitar and take vocal lessons as well. I graduated from Idyllwild Arts in 2008 and was accepted into California Institute of the Arts. After studying for one year, I decided I wanted to be closer to home and moved back to Oklahoma to continue my studies at ACM@UCO, where I received a Bachelor's degree. I am currently a keyboardist and vocalist for the Oklahoma-based band, "Haniwa", along with fellow School of Rock guitar teacher, Shawn Stafford. My passion for music has not waned in the slightest over the years and I plan to continue making music for as long as I can!
